I have used similar grinders in the 1980s and 1990s. On some jobs we would run the grinders 8 hours a day 5 days per week. Very reliable. Until a Makita chokes the chicken prematurely, I will never look to another brand for power tools. ...more

I do some welding on our ranch and cleaning up, or prepping the weld area is a breeze now. I had an older 4" Makita that finally died and needed a replacement. I am finishing overlaying a patio with quartz flagstone, so the included diamond blade is a real bonus for me. One flaw that I think all these grinders have is the "paddle" on-off switch. Works OK for most applications, but I found that the switch on my other Makita broke due to quartz dust getting into the switch. I think on this ...more
